SWEDISH EXPEDITION
We went there by train and crossed the Öresund Bridge, which is the first massive connection from Danmark to Sweden. The bridge is almost 16km long and was opened in 2000 after five years of construction works. We got the best view of the bridge from the Western Harbour of Malmö. This former harbour area is Malmös latest construction project for housing development.
The so-called Turning Torso is a 190m high tower which twists by 90° and houses expensive offices and even more expensive apartments. It was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and is a famous landmark of the area.

Extension to Studying and Living
Studying
The guide told us, the Danskes are more the thinking people and not the working so there are a lot of universities in Copenhagen. We had a short visit at the architectural university and a delicious meal in the mensa.
Living
There are two ways of living in Copenhagen. On the one hand, thereare the new buildings in the old harbour, which are very expensive and on the other hand there are sites like Christiania, which have no infrastructur and are a very unbeautiful and dangerous places to live.

"SLEEPINGPLACE"
Copenhagen is, however, really a city full of impressive buildings which were designed by well-known architects. The Black Diamond, which is an extention of the Royal Libary, is one of these buildings. And not to forget, the most famous building is the place where we spend our (short) nights... The Danhostel
FIRST CONTACT
After saying hello to the "local beauties" (The Little Mermaid) we introduced ourselves to a totally different part of Copenhagen: Christiania. Some of you might have recently followed the reports on TV about Copenhagen's problems with their youth that is living on the edge of society. And Christiania is the poor area where they live in old houses.

HAFENCITY
Hamburg will mit diesem Projekt europaweit neue Maßstäbe setzen.
